GJEPC’s Rajasthan Regional Office held an interactive meeting between members of the Jaipur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Development Commissioner, Noida SEZ, Shri. A. Bipin Menon on 22nd March, 2021, in Hotel Crowne Plaza, Jaipur.
Among the many issues discussed were precious metal supply to SEZ units, the recent cancellation of Letters of Approval (LoAs) of five units, title transfer & subletting of excess space, non-allotment of unsold plots to new as well as existing units by the developer, transfer of metal from one SEZ to the other under transit bond, reimport of jewellery exported on consignment basis after expiry of one-year period, supply of precious metal by nominated agencies from outside, fixation of Brand Rate of metal, and allowance of job work for cutting and polishing of coloured gemstones.
The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Regional Chairman Shri. Nirmal Kumar Bardiya, the Coloured Gemstones Panel Convener Shri. Vijay Kedia, and Silver Jewellery Panel Convener Shri. Ram Babu Gupta.
In his welcome address, Shri. Bardiya emphasised the full cooperation the trade was receiving from the DC local officers, and the need to fine-tune the policy and rules so that the hurdles of SEZ units are removed. Shri. Kedia gave a vote of thanks.
The other officers present in the meeting were Shri Rajesh Kumar, Dy. Dev. Comm. in O/o Dev. Comm. SEZ Noida, Shri A.K. Meena, Dy. Comm. of Customs and Specified Officer at Jaipur SEZ, Shri. Vijay, Regional Manager of RIICO (Developer), Asst. Dev. Comm., and Shri H.K. Meena.
